Werner-von-Siemens Centre for Industry and Science

The Werner-von-Siemens Centre for Industry and Science is the first active research cooperation between scientific and industrial organizations in the Siemensstadt Square.

The focus will be on the technologies of the future, aiming at developing innovations for products and production. What is special: research is conducted here at the location of production. Eventually, all ideas should be used directly for industrial purposes.

The projects of the Werner-von-Siemens Centre for Industry and Science are co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Research cooperation at the open heart of production

The first three research projects of the cooperation started in June 2020 and are funded by the Berlin Senate with around 30 million Euros. The projects focus on the future technologies of digitalization, additive manufacturing and new materials. The fields of application are electric drives, high temperature applications as well as maintenance, repair and overhaul. All three projects relate to the challenges of technological change. In the future, issues related to mobility change and energy change will also be addressed.
