Werner-von-Siemens Centre for Industry and Science

The Werner-von-Siemens Centre for Industry and Science is the first active research cooperation between scientific and industrial organizations in the new Siemensstadt. The focus will be on the technologies of the future, aiming at developing innovations for products and production. What is special: research is conducted here at the location of production. Eventually, all ideas should be used directly for industrial purposes.

Over 20 partners are already cooperating with each other in the Werner-von-Siemens Centre for Industry and Science. These include, for example, the TU Berlin, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing, Siemens and some small and medium-sized companies. The research projects focus on the future technologies of digitalization, additive manufacturing and new materials. With the help of these technologies, products and production are to be rethought - in the first step in three fields of application in the energy sector: electrical drive technology, high-temperature applications and maintenance, repair and overhaul. In the future, topics of mobility and infrastructure will also be addressed.
