The new urban quarter is to be sustainable and energy efficient, open to the neighbourhood and preserve the history of the place. It is important to us to involve neighbors, the interested public and our employees in the planning and development process.
You have voted, now the future place gets a name
The main topic of this digital event is the name for the new future place in Berlin Siemensstadt. The Governing Mayor of Berlin, Michael Müller, Siemens CEO Cedrik Neike and Siemensstadt General Manager Stefan Kögl announce the name on March 5 at 2 pm.
Many suggestions have reached us. They have already been included in the urban planning competition and will also be taken into account in the announcement of the building construction competition.
But your suggestions are also welcome beyond that.
Simply tell us your ideas in the form below.
All ideas and suggestions will be collected, evaluated and - as far as possible - incorporated into further planning.
The building construction competition is about the concrete planning of the first module in the new Siemensstadt: How is the historic administration building to be used and what are the best architectural solutions for the adjacent new buildings?
These questions have met with great interest. We received hundreds of responses, especially through our interactive online dialogue.
In July 2019 the urban planning competition was launched; the winning design was chosen in January 2020. Citizens were also able to contribute their ideas in a 3-week interactive online dialogue and in a citizens' forum. The planners and the jury received these suggestions as a recommendation paper.
